Man sues Apple for possible future hearing loss
This is one of those stories that really makes you gawp in disbelief:
A man, John Kiel Patterson is hoping for a 'class-action' lawsuit to be upheld against Apple because he views that if he plays it loudly it'll cause him permanent hearing loss.
The Louisiana (yep, USA) man considers the player to be 'defective', as it can play as loud as 115d decibels, which, if played at that volume for any more than 28 seconds can harm hearing irreparably.
In spite of the warning shipped with each iPod that says, "permanent hearing loss may occur if earphones or headphones are used at high volume", Mr Patterson is resolute.
Mr Patterson is claiming unspecified damages, and wants Apple to upgrade the players to 'repair' the fault.
